Acupuncture
The technique of acupuncture derives from a
long clinical history that traces back to 4,000 years ago in China.
It was imported to France early in the twentieth century, and
to the United States more recently. Based upon the principles
of biophysics, acupuncture relies on energetic pathways in the
body to influence organs, regions, and functions.
Used as a stand-alone or with conventional
medicine, acupuncture restores, maintains, and enhances health
in every system, especially musculoskeletal, reproductive, digestive,
and physio-emotional.
Acupuncture services provided in this office
are often combined with other modalities to optimize results.
Patients are treated front and back and never left unattended.
Acupuncture needles are extremely thin and of the highest quality
available to ensure patient comfort while maintaining clinical
effectiveness. For safety, only disposable needles are used.
Acupuncture without needles
Acupuncture can be applied without the use
of needles. Other processes are then chosen to stimulate acupuncture
points, while still adhering to the energetic principles of Oriental
medicine. This approach is particularly relevant to sensitive
individuals who would rather stay away from needles and still
enjoy the benefits of acupuncture.
The level of competence in acupuncture in the
United States is assessed by the National Certification Commission
for Acupuncture and Oriental medicine. While some health practitioners
are legally allowed to practice acupuncture, those who do not
hold NCCAOM certification have not demonstrated sufficient training
to practice it.
Acupuncture services provided in this office
are covered by insurance.
